Takeback
Date: 2011-01-17 03:22 pm (UTC)Also, a question about conversion. Which conversion rate should I use from the Master List spreadsheet to calculate the price of a stock in my currency? I chose the monthly conversion for the total amount, but I'm not sure if that's the right rate for each transaction.
Thanks
Re: Takeback
Date: 2011-01-17 09:54 pm (UTC)If you choose to do the monthly conversion, for the month of January use number 2 on this list. We'll update you in other months as to which data to use.
Re: Takeback
Date: 2011-01-18 03:34 am (UTC)Buy ALLG.L
Date: 2011-01-18 03:09 pm (UTC)Company: All Leisure Group
Ticker: 24CH60 / ISIN: GB00B24CH603
Time: 1500 GMT
Price: £0.45
Shares: 70
Country: UK
Re: Buy ALLG.L
Date: 2011-01-18 10:01 pm (UTC)Um. Can you show me where you got the price of 0.45 from? I checked the prices on google and the london stock exchange, and they showed that the price has been at 0.465 since the 14th of January. Is it just a typo?
Re: Buy ALLG.L
Date: 2011-01-18 10:23 pm (UTC)Oops, I see it there on the LSE site as just ALLG now, but on Yahoo it's saying ALLG.L
Is it just a typo?
...sort of? It is me reading the wrong line, anyway. At that price I would like 67 rather than 70, sorry to be a pain and next time I will read the right line!
Re: Buy ALLG.L
Date: 2011-01-18 11:11 pm (UTC)And that's all recorded! :D
Late start
Date: 2011-01-22 04:02 pm (UTC)Re: Late start
Date: 2011-01-24 01:40 am (UTC)After that, when you've got access to your spreadsheet, just go through and change the settings and put your timezone and name in top of the sheet, and also change the settings so that you're in the right country/timezone.
After that, you can buy stocks! You have $150 US to start with, there are no transaction fees for the month of January. You can buy from any of your local markets, and any of the big international markets. We've provided a list of stocks we think are good, but essentially you can buy anything that's under $30 a share.
Let me know if you have questions!
Re: Late start
Date: 2011-01-24 08:36 am (UTC)Automatic Buy: KR
Date: 2011-01-22 08:41 pm (UTC)Company: The Kroger Co.
Ticker: NYSE:KR
Time: now?
Amount: $75USD
Country: USA
okay, so this is where I'm confused. Can it be now, or do I have to wait until the market opens on Monday?
Re: Automatic Buy: KR
Date: 2011-01-24 01:32 am (UTC)Automatic buys will be more useful for you in later months, as they have lower transaction fees. For January, where we don't currently have transaction fees, it's a bit of a moot point. Do you still want to do an automatic buy?
Re: Automatic Buy: KR
Date: 2011-01-26 09:00 pm (UTC)Re: Automatic Buy: KR
Date: 2011-01-26 09:55 pm (UTC)I did your share purchase at 10:36 in the morning, new york time. The share price was $21.60 and you've got 3.4722 shares. It's all recorded in your spreadsheet.
